The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act of 2009, which required health centers and hospitals to create and maintain electronic records for every patient, has ushered in a new "digital age" of healthcare—creating untold possibilities in the field of healthcare informatics.
Chatham's Master of Healthcare Informatics (MHI) degree program prepares graduates to design, develop and apply technology-based innovation in healthcare services delivery, management and planning. This fully online program is designed for working professionals in healthcare, IT and business, culminating in a health informatics immersion guided by an external mentor working in the field.
Our 18-month online program provides flexibility for working professionals.
All students complete an 80-100 hour internship implementing a project outlined in class.
The MHI is an excellent credential for nurses, social workers, business and IT personnel, and more.
"Today, healthcare Informatics plays a critical role within every healthcare organization, facility or profession. By leveraging technology, data and the wisdom of health professionals, decision-making can be strengthened, influencing how individuals are treated ultimately advancing the level of quality care people receive."
