As the healthcare industry evolves, occupational therapists must expand their knowledge base to meet the demands of contemporary practice. Chatham's OTD program is designed for OT clinicians and academicians who want to enhance their careers and become leaders of the OT profession.
Graduates leave with the knowledge and skills to become evidence-based practitioners, advanced clinicians and professional leaders.
Students take 2-3 online courses per semester and visit campus for their Capstone Project.
Courses are tied to students' practice focus, allowing for immediate on-the-job application.
Experienced OTs who hold a bachelor's degree can pursue their OTD without a master's.
“The professional doctorate of occupational therapy program at Chatham University helped to define and further prepare me for leadership roles within my own institution. The unique approach involving evidence-based practice and the threading of the concepts throughout the program proved invaluable. I am applying lessons and concepts realized in the program on a daily basis with pronounced success."
